William "Bill" Mcwherter, Jr.

William “Bill” Ferite McWherter, Jr., age 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee on January13, 2018. Bill was born on December 27, 1954 to William Ferite McWherter, Sr. and Margaret Caldwell McWherter in Martin, Tennessee.
He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Lucretia; three sons Larry Lindsey, Jr. (Pam), William McWherter III, Matthew McWherter, two daughters, MeLisa J. Williams and Julia McWherter, his mother, Margaret McWherter and five sisters, and ten grandchildren, and his sister-in-law and dedicated caregiver, Sally O’Neal.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Ferite McWherter, Sr. and one brother, Danny McWherter.
Bill was a man of many words, who never met a stranger. He had a great passion for nature, exploring the outdoors and gardening. He loved animals and will be deeply missed by his dog, Bama.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Bill’s sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Charles Randle, for their frequent visits and spiritual support during his illness.
Services of remembrance were conducted Friday, January 19, 2018, with graveside services at Eastside Cemetery in Martin, Tennessee.
Family requests memorials be made to American Cancer Society.
