Wayne Hood

Mr. Wayne L. Hood, age 88, of Martin died Wednesday, 09/28/2011, at Volunteer Community Hospital.

Funeral service will be Friday, 09/30/2011, at Murphy Funeral Home; 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Hood will be Thursday, 09/29/2011, from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

Mr. Hood is survived by his wife, Doris Warden Hood of Martin; son, John Forrest Hood of Martin; daughter, Melanie Lee Hood of Martin; brothers, Bryant Hood and Richard Hood both of Milan, TN; sister, Frances Cates of West Memphis, Arkansas; one grandson, Andrew Hood.

Mr. Hood was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Lawton Hood and Maude Pruitt Hood; his brothers, Hugh Ludell Hood, Ray Hood and Joe Hood.

Mr. Hood worked as a policeman for the City of Martin. He retired after 30 plus years with the Tennessee Highway Patrol. He worked as a security guard at MTD in Martin. Mr. Hood attended Public Wells Baptist Church and was a WW II U.S. Army veteran.
