Virginia Parrish

Miss Virginia Louise Parrish, age 99, of Martin died Sunday, January 08, 2012, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Graveside service will be Thursday, January 12,2012 at East Side Cemetery; 1:00 P.M. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. at Murphy Funeral Home on Thursday.

Miss Parrish is survived by her sister, Mildred Leeman of Jackson, TN. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Lee Christopher; brother, William Haze Parrish; parents, William Albert Parrish and Jervis Mae Penn Parrish.

Miss Parrish attended Hall-Moody grade school, Martin Elementary and Martin High School, UT Junior College and The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi. She was a fifty year member of Omicron Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an organization for women educators. She was a member of Central Baptist Church since the year of its organization. Her 43 years of teaching were in Houston County, Tennessee, San Antonio, Texas and Martin, Tennessee.
