Mrs. Verlie Dortch Sudberry, age 98, entered her eternal home on November 9, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O'fallon, Illinois. She was a longtime resident of Martin, Tennessee.
Graveside service will be Saturday, November 14, 2020, 12:00 Noon in East Side Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Springer officiating. Family and friends may assemble in the cemetery at 11:45.
Pallbearers are Seth Dortch, Dusty Barner, John Dortch, David Sudberry, Matt Crick, Mark Carrington and Mike Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Carrington, Doug Barner, Lee Dortch and David Glover.
Mrs. Sudberry was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, William Sudberry; her parents, Eva Beard and Richard Dortch, four brothers, Cleatus, Herman, Bill and Toy Dortch; three sisters, Earlene Edwards, Callie Myrick and Brooksie Carrington.
Mrs. Sudberry worked as a sewing machine operator for Martin Manufacturing for many years. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Martin.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Jerry) Voss of Belleville, IL and Vicky (Steve) Hill of Rural Retreat, Virginia; her sister, Maxine Garner of Martin; five grandchildren, Kyle (Molly) McMillin, Christy (Cathy) McMillin, Stacy (Glenn) Arney, Stephanie (Steve) Maddox and Tyler Hill; five great-grandchildren, Leah, Colin and Kendall Maddox and Chase and Aiden Arney; her best furry friend, Rusty.
