Vercie (Gene) Busby

Mr. Vercie Eugene (Gene) Busby, age 78, of Martin died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Tennova Healthcare Volunteer Hospital.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 4/13/2016, at 1:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Parham Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time at the church.

Mr. Busby is survived by two sons, Victor Busby and Steven (April) Busby both of Michigan; sisters, Amy Lawler of Martin, Deborah Busby, and Paula (Tommie) Jackson both of Memphis; brothers, William B. Busby and Michael Busby both of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vercie Eugene Busby, Sr. and Louise L. Holt Busby; three brothers, Thomas Busby, Robert Busby and Jerry Busby.

Mr. Busby was a veteran, U.S. Air Force. He retired from the City of Memphis where he was director of personnel. He was the director of Hope of Martin and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martin.
