Mr. T.H. Farmer, III, age 89, died Thursday, August 23, 2018, at his residence.
Funeral service will be Saturday, August 25, 2018, 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 Noon until funeral time at the church.
Mr. Farmer is survived by his wife, Angeline Fisher Farmer of Martin; his daughter, Patricia Farmer of Lavergne, TN; his son, David Farmer of Smyrna, TN; two grandchildren, Amanda and Daniel Farmer.
Mr. Farmer was the owner and operator of Lovelace-Farmer Wholesale Grocery in Martin. He served on the Weakley County Commission, Weakley County School Board, Weakley County Municipal Electric Board where he was treasurer for 40 years, the Martin Industrial Board, UTM Development Board, First Citizens Bank Advisory Board in Martin and served on the finance Committee for First United Methodist Church. He was a Director, President and Chairman of the Board for The Martin Bank. He graduated from McKenzie High School and attended Vanderbilt University. He was a graduate of Bowling Green University with a double major in business and accounting. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Martin and was a veteran, U.S. Army Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, T.H. Farmer, Jr. and Paula Baker Farmer.
