Mrs. Martha Sue Trevathan Foote, age 95, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Van Ayer Healthcare in Martin.
Funeral Service will be Friday, November 11, 2016, 12:00 Noon at First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Washburn officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Friday at the church until the hour of the service.
A life-long resident of Martin, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Mr. Paul Preston Foote; her parents, Clint and Georgia Trevathan; brother, Charles Trevathan, and sister, Mary Louise Trevathan Hooper.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Elizabeth Foote of Madison, Alabama and her three grandchildren, Laura, Andrew and Daniel Foote.
Mrs. Foote was a long-time employee of the University of Tennessee at Martin. She began her career as a secretary on the UT Junior College campus during the early 1940's and continued to work at UTM until her retirement in 1983.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church where she taught children's Sunday School for many years.
