Mr. Steven Don Gale, age 70, of Martin, TN, died Sunday, 06/06/2021.
Memorial services and celebration of life will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, 06/12/2021, at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, with Rev. George Pasley officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 06/11/2021, between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home. Burial will be at the State Veterans Military Cemetery at Parker's Crossroads, TN with Military honors at a later date.
Mr. Gale was born in Mountain View, MO, grew up in Springfield, MO, and raised his family in Fayetteville, AR, Gainesville, FL, and then Martin, TN, where he enjoyed the last 27 years.
Mr. Gale was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder; he was an Army veteran serving in Vietnam; he was a carpenter whose skill is found in businesses and homes across West TN.
In support of his family he was a coach, scout leader, PTA president, dance dad, band parent, and Darryl. Friends and family knew him as kind, creative, generous, calm, funny, selfless, a quiet leader, and open hearted.
Mr. Gale was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Paula Michelle Williamson Gale, Martin, TN; a daughter, Sara (Charles) Read, Atlanta, GA.; a son, Don (Megan) Gale, Memphis, TN; four grandchildren, Eden, Owen, Henry, and Judson Gale; two brothers, Sidney (Marian) Gale, Sharpsburg, MD, and Wayne Gale, Springfield, MO.
Mr. Gale is reunited in death with a brother, Bradford Gale, and his Parents, Don Winfred and Wanda Hope Donaldson Gale.
The family requests memorials be made to the Martin Public Library Foundation. Mr. Gale was an avid reader who frequented the local library.
