Stanley Edwards

Mr. William Stanley Edwards, age 80, of Martin died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Martin Health Care.

Funeral service will be Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Martin Church of Christ at 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow in East Side Cemetery in Martin. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday at the Martin Church of Christ for two hours prior to the funeral service at 11:00 A.M.

Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Weldon Edwards; his parents, Charlie (Buster) Floyd Edwards and Mary Virginia McGehee Edwards.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his sons, Randy (Debra)Edwards, Ricky Edwards and Rusty (Beth) Edwards all of Martin; four brothers, Floyd Edwards of Sharon, TN; Myron Edwards and Joel Edwards both of Chicago, Doug Edwards, of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Pat Collins of Lake Placid, FL and Alice Nunley of Chicago. five grandchildren, eight great-grandchilddren and two great great-grandchildren.

Mr. Edwards retired as an insurance executive formerly with National Life and Accident Insurance Company and B.M.A. Insurance Company. He owned and operated Business Insurance Services which was an insurance and securities company based in Martin, TN. He was a graduate of Sharon High School and a member of the Martin Church of Christ. He was the founding member of the Sharon Eagle Quartet and the Gloryland Quartet. He was a veteran, U.S. Army.
