Shirley Swaim

Mrs. Shirley Marie Grooms Swaim, age 80, died on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at her home in Martin surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 16, 2022, 1:00 P.M. at the Martin Church of Christ with Bro. Corey Sawyers officiating.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday at the church beginning at 9:00 A.M. until funeral time at 1:00.

Pallbearers are Adam Miller, Chad McMackin, Heath Hester, Hunter Allen, Larry Kelly and Danny Cash.  Honorary Pallbearers are Elders and Past Elders of the Martin Church of Christ.  Special Friends: Shirley's Bridge Club, Martin Fine Arts Club, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. James Tuck.

She is survived by her husband, Van Swaim of Martin; her sons, Mike (Ann) Swaim and Mark Swaim both of Martin, Ron (Debi) Swaim and Roger (Cindi) Swaim both of Jackson, TN; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Jerry Kenneth Swaim of Greenfield, Tennessee.

Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.  She was an active and faithful member of the Martin Church of Christ.  She was an avid bridge player and a member of the Martin Fine Arts Club.  Shirley was a 1960 graduate of Martin High School and was crowned "Miss Martin" in 1958.
