Mr. Seymour Mansfield, age 80, of Martin died Thursday, 08/09/2012, at his residence.
Funeral service will be Sunday, August 12, 2012, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Cates Cemetery in Martin. Visitation will be Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Murphy Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M., or after 12:30 P.M. at the church on Sunday.
Mr. Mansfield is survived by his wife, Dolores Peery Mansfield of Martin; his son, Steve (Marilyn) Mansfield of Dallas, TX; his daughters, Kay Wilkes of Union City, TN and Lisa (Jim) Reynolds of Collierville, TN; his sisters, Carol Laird of Dresden, TN and Jean Merritt of Henderson, KY; seven grandchildren, Abby Wilkes Floyd, Benjamin Wilkes, III, Bonnie Wilkes, Meredith Mansfield, Camille Spaulding, Jake Reynolds and Zack Reynolds; one great-grandson, Benjamin Wilkes, IV.
Mr. Mansfield was preceded in death by his parents Carmack Mansfield and Hallie McBee Mansfield Gray; brother, John Mansfield, Billy Mansfield and Joe Mansfield; sisters, Dorothy Eutsler, Kathy Evitts; son-in-law, Rev. Ben Wilkes; grandson, Peter Wilkes.
Mr. Mansfield was retired from Turner Dairy after 40 years as personnel co-ordinator. He was a graduate of Bruce's Business Institute. He was a charter member of the Gideon International-Weakley County Camp. He was amember of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for 62 years and served as deacon for 37 years.
