Sarah Jacobs

Mrs. Sarah Jeanette Jacobs, age 81, of Rives, Tennessee died Thursday, December 28, 2023, at her home.

Funeral services will be Friday, 01/05/2024, at 1:00 PM at the Alamo Baptist Church, with Rev. John Mathis, Rev. Jeff Crabtree, and Rev Eddy Ray officiating, with burial to follow at the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday, 01/04/2024, between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, or after 11:00 AM Friday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Jacobs, Jonathon Carroll, James King, Andrew Sanders, Ethan Jacobs, Tim Wilson, and Holly Carroll; honorary pallbearers will be Dickie Jacobs, J.M. Shanes, Charlie Priest, and Chris Ray.

Mrs. Jacobs was preceded in death by her husband, Laymon Wayne Jacobs and her parents, Bondy Mathis and Opal Halford Mathis; one brother, Bill Westbrooks. 

She was retired from The University of Tennessee at Martin.  She was a member of Alamo Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Holly (Jonathon) Carroll of Caneyville, KY and Kevin (Kathryn) Jacobs of Gloucester, VA; seven grandchildren,Andrew Garrigus, Jennifer Garrigus, Shelby Jacobs, Samantha Jacobs, Joshua Wilson, Kristian Humphries, and Andrew Sanders; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Linda (James) King of Dyer, TN and brother, Buster (Pat) Mathis of Elgin, Texas..
