Sandra King

January 14, 1955 — January 8, 2017

Sandra Neeley King, age 62, of Dickson, formerly of Martin, lost her battle with cancer after a long hard fought illness on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at her residence. She is now with her Lord - pain free with loved ones already there.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at noon, January 28th at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. The family requests friends and family come to the visitation from noon to 12:45 P.M. with a short eulogy to follow.

She was the daughter of the late Joe and Vertrees Neeley and the grandaughter of Clarence and Dessie Smith.

She had come to love the people of Dickson and had become a member of the Dickson Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She had turned her life around but as always was herself.

She graduated Westview High School and then attended Ramsey's School of Flowers in Memphis.

She was an accomplished floral designer for over 35 years. She worked with Cothan's Flowers in Union City, Four Seasons (Mr. & Mrs. Mac) in Martin, Murphy Funeral Home and Florist and St. Charles Florist in Martin.

She was also an accomplished dog breeder and trainer. She trained all aspects of training including protection training. She trained and owned the highest titled Doberman in the US. She bred Dobermans, Miniature Pinschers and Dachshund, many that obtained their Championship (AKC). She believed in breeding in all around dogs - temperament as well as being able to do whatever it was bred to do.

She loved the people of Martin. She was born and lived there for many years. She leaves one son, Danny Joe (Marissa) King, Jr. of Dickson; one sister, Shirley (Kenneth) Chappell of Martin; one devoted nephew, Joe Chappell of Dickson, two great-nieces, Audrey Chappell of Murfreesboro and Allison Chappell of Union City; and one special friend, Mary Bell of Dickson; as well as many friends everywhere.

She requested no flowers be sent that any donations in her name be given to Dickson Humane Society of Dickson or to you local "No Kill" Shelter such as Red Fern in Dresden.

She wanted to acknowledge her friends from Crutchfield and the surrounding area. They were in her heart for all her time and gave her a lot of happy memories.
