Ruth P. Summers

Mrs. Mary Ruth Peery Summers, age 86, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Martin Health Care. Funeral services will be Friday, July 24, 2009, at Murphy Funeral Home; 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 23, 2009, 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M.

Mrs. Summers is survived by her husband, P.L. Summers of Martin. Two children survive; Randy (Deborah) Summers of Grapevine, TX, and Brenda (Donnie) McWherter of Martin. She was preceded in death by her parents; William K. Peery and Ruth Belle Taylor Peery; one sister, Katherine Todd. Mrs. Summers is survived by four grandchildren; Kevin McWherter of Nashville, Cory and Chad Summers of Grapevine, TX, and Christy (Chip) Russell of Ft. Worth, Texas. Two great-grandchildren survive; Brayden Russell and Tyler Russell.

Mrs. Summers was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Martin. She was a graduate of Dresden High School.
