Mr. Roy Hubert Mires, age 80, died Wednesday at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, KY. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Murphy Funeral Home; 2:00 P.M. with burial to follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Saturday morning.
Mr. Mires is survived by his wife, Nancy Lassiter Mires of Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Shelby Mires. He is survived by his sons, Dennis Mires (Theresa) of Union City and Daniel(Tracy) Mires of South Fulton; daughter, Diane (Gary) Copeland of Union City, TN; step sons, Mark (Debbie) Lassiter of Dresden, Steve (Alice) Lassiter of Palmersville and Barry Lassiter of Gleason; sister, Lucille (Howard) Garner of Martin; brothers, Leon (Dorothy) Mires of Martin and Paul (Carol) Mires of Mederian, Mississippi; five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Rufus Mires, Sr. and Pauline Barnes Mires; brother, Rufus Mires, Jr.
Mr. Mires was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Martin.
