Ronald "Ronnie" Dane

Ronald "Ronnie" Dean Dane, age 74, of Collierville, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023.

Ronnie was born on December 26th, 1948, in Martin, TN.  He was the oldest of three boys to parents Willie Paul and Mary Lou Dane.

He attended Martin High School In Martin, TN where he was a standout football player.  For his senior year, he was voted Mr. Martin High School and Co-Captain of the football team.

He continued his education at The University of Tennessee at Martin graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement.  At UTM, he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, a bond he shared with his son, and affectionately known as "Chief".

After college, he moved to Memphis where he served The Memphis Police Department for 26 years.

After his retirement, he loved spending time with his family, watching Tennessee football, and attending his grandchildren's events.

Mr. Dane was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Paul and Mary Lou Dane, and his brother, Phil Dane.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years and the love of his life, Sarah; his son Matt (Misty); his grandchildren Garrett and Sailor; and his brother Greg (Gina).

A visitation for Ronald will be held Friday, December 8, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:30 AM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119.  The graveside service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM, at Memorial park SouthWoods, 5485 Hacks Cross Rd, Memphis, TN 38125.
