Roger D. Dowdy

Mr. Roger Dwayne Dowdy, age 56, of the Terrell Community, Martin TN, died Monday, January 17, 2011, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Murphy Funeral Home; 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow in Stanley's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 18, 2011, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Mr. Dowdy is survived by his wife, Linda Jackson Dowdy of Martin; his son, Dwayne (Dishell) Dowdy of Union City; his daughter Allison (Chad) Plunk of Rives, TN; his parents, Milton and Hazel Cothron Dowdy of Martin; his brother, Waldrop (Tami) Dowdy of Union City; four grandchildren, Walker and Cothron Plunk and Brentley and Bracen Dowdy.

Mr. Dowdy was a farmer and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martin. He was a 1972 graduate of Westview High School.
