Robert H. "Bob" Brooks

Robert “Bob” Henry Brooks, age 85, of Daphne, Alabama, formerly of Martin, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. 

Mr. Brooks worked for 27 years with Kent’s Department Stores, Sam Shainberg’s (eventually P.N. Hirsch Company) where he worked his way up to District Manager.  In 1983 he joined Stein Mart where he retired after 25 years as a Regional Vice President. 

Bob never met a stranger and maintained relationships with previous co-workers and friends until the end.  He loved and was loved by his family endlessly and was always cutting up in some sort of fashion. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Ruby Crockett Brooks; his parents, Crawford Brooks and Bonnie Atkins Brooks of Martin; his brother, Billy Brooks of Springfield, TN; his sister, Pattie Fuller of Martin.

Bob is survived by his wife, Peggy Brooks of Daphne, AL; his son, Robert Michael “Mike” (Lauren) Brooks; his daughters, Caroline Brooks (Stephen) Wilder and Jessica Brooks (James) Woodard; three grandchildren, Hayley Brooks (Warren) Meilicke, Jameson Brooks Woodard and Jantzen Henley Woodard.

Graveside Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be Saturday, November 27, 2021, 1:00 P.M. in East Side Cemetery with Rev. Greg Alderdice officiating. Family and friends may assemble at 12:45 P.M. in the cemetery.
