Richard Herrmann

Dr. Richard E. Herrmann, age 70, died Sunday at his home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at First United Methodist Church in Martin; 1:00 P.M. Burial to follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at the funeral home; 5:30 P.M. - 7:00 P.M., or after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church. The family will arrive at the church at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday.

Dr. Herrmann is survived by his wife, Jeanette Herrmann of Martin. He is survived by two brothers, Michael Herrmann of Houston, Texas and Donald Herrmann of Ft. Worth, Texas; his brother-in-law, Jim Crocker of Martin.

Dr. Herrmann obtained his undergraduate degree from Centenary College, Shreveport, LA; his Divinity degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN; his Ph.D from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He was an educator at Volunteer State Community College for 17 years in Gallatin, TN; an educator at Dyersburg State Community College for 13 years in Dyersburg, TN. He retired from the Tennessee Conference of United Methodist Ministers. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martin.
