Rebecca Nielsen

Mrs. Rebecca Whitson Nielsen, age 91, died Friday, August 14, 2020, at Weakley County Nursing and Rehab Center in Dresden.

Graveside service will be Sunday, August 16, 2020, 4:00 P.M. in East Side Cemetery with Dr. Roger S. Oldham officiating.  Family and friends may assemble in the cemetery at 3:45.

Mrs. Nielsen was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Paul Nielsen; her son, Patrick Noel Nielsen; parents, Henderson Whitson and Elizabeth Stafford Whitson; brother, Phil Hurt; sister, Eleanor Oliver Clabaugh.

Mrs. Nielsen was an educator retiring from the Weakley County School System.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Martin.

She is survived by her children, Paul (Marie) Nielsen and Mary Ellen (Mike) Stooksberry all of Martin; seven grandchildren, Chris (Sarah) Nielsen of College Grove, TN, Brad (Emily) Nielsen of Lawrenceburg, TN, Andy (Bethaney) Nielsen of Columbia, TN, Eric Stooksberry of Fairfax, VA, Patrick (Amiee) Stooksberry, Sarah Beth Stooksberry and Emily (Richard) Payne all of Martin; 14 great-grandchildren, Eva Grace and Brown Nielsen, Ben, Bailey and Beckett Nielsen, Declan and Gus Nielsen, Luci and Evelyn Stooksberry, Sullivan and Amelie Stooksberry, Noah Stooksberry, Henry and Elizabeth Payne.
