Rebecca Murphey Shelton

Mrs. Rebecca Murphey Shelton, age 100, died Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at Diversicare in Martin.

Graveside service will be Saturday, November 2, 2019, 2:00 P.M. at Crow Cemetery in Stewart County, Tennessee.  Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 Noon at Murphy Funeral Home prior to leaving for the Bumpus Mills Community. 

Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her husband, Hewell Guy Shelton; parents, Milburn Murphey and Audie Howard Murphey; brothers, Boyce, GB and Truman Murphey; sister, Rupelle Speight.

Mrs. Shelton retired from the business office at The University of Tennessee at Martin.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Martin.

She is survived by her children by marriage, Doyle (Kelly) Shelton of Hopkinsville, KY, Glenda (William) Hilling of Lawrenceburg, KY and Regina Humphries of Pensacola, FL; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild by marriage; her niece, Marilyn Murphey (Bob) Beach of Little Rock, AR; nephews, Bill Murphey of Oregon, Bob Murphey of Memphis and Max Speight of Martin.  She is survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews.
