Ray Peery

Mr. Thomas Ray Peery, age 87, died Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at his residence.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 24, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Bible Union Baptist Church in Martin with Rev. Jerry Powell, Rev. Keith Sumner and Rev. Terry Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery in Sharon. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Bible Union Baptist Church, or after 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church.

Mr. Peery is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mrs. Brooksie Lee Lackey Peery of Martin; two sons, Mike (Denise) Peery of Jackson, TN and Timothy Ray (Rayma) Peery of Gleason, TN; one brother, Sterling (Loretta) Peery of Greenfield, TN; one grandchild, Timothy Clinton (Mollie) Peery of Medina, TN; one great-grandchild, Jonathan Ray Peery.

Mr. Peery was a retired insurance agent for both Home Beneficial Insurance Company and Modern Woodman Insurance Company. He was the music director at Bible Union Baptist Church where he was a member. He was a graduate of Dresden High School and a veteran, U.S. Army. He severed as a Mason over 50 years in Mt. Vernon Lodge #349 in Sharon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Peery and Lavergne Adams Peery; one sister, Alvergne Prince.
