Paul Herbert Smith

Mr. Paul Herbert Smith, age 89, of Martin died Sunday, 04/17/2011, at Volunteer Community Hospital.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, 04/20/2011, at the Martin Church of Christ; 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery in Martin. Visitation will be Tuesday, 04/19,2011, at Murphy Funeral Home; 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Georgette Marie Smith. He is survived by sons, James Herman Smith of Martin and John (Bo) Smith of Simpsonville, S.C.; daughters, Mary Frances Gingras of Martin, Susan Kelly of Martin, Paulette (Molly) Morel of Martin and Nancy Allen of Hallowell, Maine; brother, Joe Smith of Martin; sisters, Mildred Barber and Dollie Brewer both of Martin; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Smith and Mamie Lovelace Smith. Also, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Brent Morel.

Mr. Smith was retired rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a veteran, U.S. Army WW II and a member of the Martin Church of Christ.
