Odell Owensby

Mrs. Odell Simpson Owensby, age 95, of Martin died Sunday, 08/07/2011.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, 08/09/2011, at 2:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, with burial to follow at New Hope Cemetery, near Ruthville TN. Visitation will be after 10:00 AM Tuesday until service time.

Mrs. Owensby was preceded in death by her husband, Laverne Owensby. She is survived by her daughter, Shelby (Jere) Webb of Martin; sister, Maxine Irwin of Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren, Kim Gardner, Jill Webb, Brian Webb and Stacy Owensby.

Mrs. Owensby was preceded in death by her parents, John T. and Lucy Mae Simpson; one son, Glynn Owensby; sister, Isabell Seay; brothers, Vascoe Simpson and Charles Simpson.

Mrs. Owensby was formally employed for H.I.S. Company in Fulton. She was the first female bus driver for Weakley County Schools were she retired. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Martin.
