Norris Newton

Mr. Norris Nelson Newton, age 87, died Sunday, August 30, 2015.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, September 1, 2015, 2:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Eddie Mallonee and Rev. Justin Hiens officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 31, 2015, 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mr. Newton is survived by his wife, Frances Carnice Garrish Newton of Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents, E.M Newton and Ether Crews Hazlewood Newton; brothers, Charles Lloyd Newton, James Newton, L.B. Newton and Marion Newton; sisters, Margaret Osteen, Arletta Sandling and Ivy Mathis.

Mr. Newton was a retired contractor and retired from the State of Tennessee Highway Department. He was a veteran, U.S. Air Force WWII.
He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City.
