Mrs. Joyce Pounds

Mrs. Joyce Marie Pounds, age 86, died on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Van Ayer Nursing and Rehab Center in Martin.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 31, 2018, 1:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Powell officiating.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday beginning at 11:00 A.M. until funeral time at 1:00.

Mrs. Pounds is survived by her husband, Mr. Charles E. Pounds of Martin; son, Lanis (Jacquie) Henry of Cummings, GA; daughters, Peggy (Terry) Mansfield of Montgomery, AL and Pam (Hal) Williamson of Martin; brother, Horace Britt of Fayetteville, NC; five grandchildren, Holly Mansfield, Jeremy Mansfield, Bryan Henry, Drew Hood and Will Hood.

Mrs. Pounds retired from Financial Aids at The University of Tennessee at Martin.  She received her Masters Degree from The University of Tennessee at Martin.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Britt and Myrtle Pate Britt; daughter, Paula Pounds Hood, brothers, Robert Britt, Jr. and David Britt.
