Mary Virginia Summers

Mrs. Mary Virginia Waterfield Hilliard Summers, age 93, of Martin died Friday, March 28, 2014, at her residence.

Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Murphy Funeral Home.  Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 A.M.

Mrs. Summers is surived by her husband, Clyde Lee Summers of Martin.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Hilliard; her parents, Everett Waterfield and Rena Gardner Waterfield; two brothers, Harold Waterfield and Wayne Waterfield; one sister, Charleen Moore; one step-son, Clyde Wayne Summers.

She is survived by her son, David Hilliard of Houston, Texas; her daughters, Barbara (Fred) Wells of Houston, Texas and Diana Duncan of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Sherry Waterfield Alvey of Murfreesboro, TN; one step-son, Robert Dennis Summers of Sharon, TN; two step-daughters, Beverly Gail Etter of Moscow, TN and Debra Lee Brooks of McHenry, Illinois, six grandchildren and 13 step-grandchildren.

Mrs. Summers was a homemaker and a 1940 graduate of Sharon High School.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Martin.
