Mary Pegues Burks

Mrs Mary Pegues Burks, age 100, died Sunday, 07/15/2012, at Volunteer Community Hospital.

Funeral service will be Friday, 07/20/2012, at Miles Chapel C.M.E. Church; 1:00 P.M. Burial to follow in Highland Cemetary in Sharon, TN. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. at the church on Friday afternoon one hour prior to funeral service at 1:00 P.M.

Mrs Burks worked at the Alpha Gamma Rho Frantenity House for over 20 years in the kitchen. She was a member of Miles Chapel C.M.E. Church.

Mrs Burks is survived by a grand daughter, Zella Richardson, of Martin TN, a sister, Rev. Virginia Davis, Birmingham, AL, and a brother, James Stewart, Birmingham, Al.

Mrs Burks was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Pegues and Doris Burks, and her daughter, Mary Ruth Pascal, and her parents, Columbus and Olivia Stewart.
