Mary Lynn Benson

Mrs. Mary Lynn Travis Benson, age 89, died Wednesday at Weakley County Nursing and Rehab Center in Dresden. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Murphy Funeral Home; 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, August 7, 2009, at the funeral home; 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.
Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Benson. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Benson (John) Collins; her son, Walter (Lorna) Benson; grandchildren, Emily Collins of New York, Daniel and Travis Benson of Martin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Linnie Wheeling Travis.
Mrs. Benson was a retired teacher from the University of Tennessee at Martin. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and received her masters degree from Murray State University. She was a member of the Martin Church of Christ.
