Mary Frances Hicks

Mrs. Mary Frances Freeman Elder Hicks, age 95, died Sunday, 12/12/2010, at Weakley County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dresden, TN.

Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by husbands, Mays Elder and Wayne Hicks. She is survived by one son, Donald Elder of Martin, TN; one daughter, Marietta (David) Nelms of Murfreesboro, TN; step-daughters, Ann Elizabeth (Franklin) Gardner and Mary Elder (Larry) Fowler all of Martin. She was preceded in death by parents, Will David Freeman and Eura Butler Freeman; brothers, James Paul Freeman, Billy Howard Freeman, Haze Murry Freeman and Thomas Wade Freeman; sister, Virginia Ross. She is survived by three grandchildren, William David Nelms, James Andrew Nelms and Timothy Scott Nelms. Four step-grandchildren survive, Teresa Ellis, Tammie Mosley, Tyler Gardner and Tracey Sutton. 17 step great-grandchilden survive and 12 step great great-grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by one step-grandson, Tony Gardner.

Mrs. Hicks retired from Martin Manufacturing Company in Martin. She was a member of the Gardner United Methodist Church in Martin.
