Mary Ellen Callahan

Mrs. Mary Ellen Dodds Callahan, age 81, died Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 20, 2017, 2:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with burial to follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday beginning at 11:00 A.M. until service time at 2:00.

Mrs. Callahan is survived by her husband, Mr. Dallas Dee Callahan of Martin; daughter, Ruth (Stephen) Cloar of Paris, TN; two sons, Thomas Dee (Betty) Callahan of Greenfield, TN and Johnny Lee (Brenda) Callahan of Brighton, TN; sisters, Roberta Duncan of Union City, TN, Helen (Ray) Bowlin of St. Charles, VA, Annie Belle Gibson of Crutchfield, KY, Nannie Belle (Samuel) Readenour of Gardner, KS and Freda J. (Robert) Jones of Martin; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren and one step great great-grandchild.

Mrs. Callahan worked in Ladies Apparel at Wal-Mart in Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frankie L. Dodds and Ruby Harrison, sister, May Frances Dodds Bowlin; three brothers, Billy Joe Dodds, Charles Edward Dodds and Frankie Lee Dodds.
