Martha Norwood

Ms. Martha J. Goforth Norwood, age 70, of Martin died Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Baptist Hospital in Union City, Tennessee.

Funeral service will be Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Murphy Funeral Home; 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, November 9, 2012, from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.

Ms. Norwood is survived by two sons, Lynn (Sherry) Payne and Thomas (Vickie) Payne both of Martin; three brothers, J. B. Goforth of Caruthersville, MO, Jake Junior Goforth of Ripley, TN, Jimmy Goforth of Halls, TN; five sisters, Margaret Bowles, Jeanette Booker, Cathy Benson, Brenda Lewis all of Halls, TN, and Lyvon Maxwell of Ripley, TN; four grandchildren, Keisha (Keith) Baker, Kayla (Dwayne)Evans, Thomas Lynn Payne and Christopher Payne all of Martin; and five great-grandchildren.

Ms. Norwood was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. Goforth and Eddie Idell Moddlin Goforth.

Ms. Norwood formerly worked at Tyson Foods in Union City. She was a member of Ralston Baptist Church in Martin.
