Margie Brooks

Mrs. Margie Pilcher Brooks of Martin, age 69, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Funeral service will be Friday,  May 24, 2024, 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Martin with Dr. Mike Sams officiating.  Burial will follow in Cate Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church until funeral time at 1:00.

Pallbearers are Logan Brooks, John Brannen, James Brannen, David Barnes, Keith Kennedy and Lee Pritchett.

She is survived by her husband, Barry Brooks; her two sons, Mark (Meagan) Brooks of Dyersburg, TN and Kyle (Sheena) Brooks of Martin; her mother, Carolyn Herron Pilcher of Ripley, TN; sister, Jan (Jim) Brannen of Clarksville, TN; brother, Jim (Atha) Pilcher of Somerville, TN; five grandchildren, Henley and Bennett Brooks, Bolton, Halen and Harris Brooks.

Margie was a retired educator spending most of her teaching career at Martin Primary School.  She was a graduate of Ripley High School in Ripley, Tennessee and a graduate of The University of Tennessee at Martin where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority, Xi Zeta Chapter.  She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Martin where she sang in the choir.  She was an avid gardener and loved cooking for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Tracy Pilcher, and her sister, Sharon Barnes.
