Miss Margaret T. Weaver, age 86, of Martin died Monday, November 10, 2014, at Martin Health Care. Born in Parsonburg, Maryland (1928), she spent her childhood in that area. After her father's death in 1944, Miss Weaver, sister Nancy and her mother moved to Hendersonville, NC to be close to family. She was proud of her Weaver heritage-her Weaver ancestors founded Weaverville, NC.

Miss Weaver obtained her BS, English from Maryville College. She earned her Masters in Library Science at George Peabody College. Before moving to Martin, she held various library positions at Mary Washington College and Furman University.

Miss Weaver moved to Martin in 1961 for a position at the UT-Martin library. Over her 36 year career, she advanced from cataloger to Inter-Library Loan Librarian. She was a member of the faculty, AAUW and various library associations. She retired in 1992.

Miss Weaver was a crafter, photographer and traveler. She also enjoyed cuisines from many world cultures. An avid reader, she embraced electronic books. Her Kindle was her constant companion. And, she volunteered for her church and community organizations.

Miss Weaver's friends were her life. Her community and church in Martin sustained her. Her family is indebted to them, particularly Bill Austin, Carla Field and Lee Clements for all their love, companionship and support. Special thanks to Pam Frantz for taking care of Miss Weaver's other needs. They are also indebted to the wonderful, caring staff and doctors at Martin Health Care and Fresenius Dialysis Center.

Miss Weaver is survived by her nephew, Vann (Laura) Evans of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe Robinson Weaver and Ethel Christina Lancaster Weaver and her sister, Nancy Jane Weaver Evans.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Martin on Sunday, November 16 at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to Trinity Presbyterian Church would be welcome.
