Lt Col John Carter Haley, Sr. (Ret.)

Lt. Col. John Carter Haley, Sr.(ret.), age 87, of Todd St., Martin, TN, died Friday, 12/29/2017, at Vanderbilt Hospital, Nashville, TN.

Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, 01/06/2018, at First United Methodist Church of Martin, TN, at 12:00 noon, with Rev. Randy Cooper officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 01/05/2017, between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM at the First Methodist Church and Saturday, 01/06/2017, after 11:00 AM until service time.

Lt.Col. Haley was a member of First United Methodist Church, Martin, TN; he was retired from the U.S. Army. Lt.Col. Haley received his Bachelors Degree from University of Florida; his Masters Degree from College of William and Mary and Masters Degree from Florida International University.

Lt. Col. Haley is survived by his wife, Cynthia Anne Baumgartner Haley, Martin, TN; two daughters, Cynthia H. (Phil) Maness, and Karen H. (Tommy) Wilson, both of Martin, TN; three sons, John C. (Lori) Haley, Jr., Mission Viejo, CA, Kent D. Haley, Martin, TN, and James H. (Lisa) Haley, The Woodlands, TX.;eight grandchildren, Elizabeth H. Gipson, John C.(Courtney) Haley, Becky S. (Josh) Mullins, Adam C. (Allison) Smith, Lauren A.(Jake) Baumler, Nathaniel J. Haley, Eric (Hillary) Wilson, and John (Olivia) Wilson; 12 great grandchildren, Easton, Jase, Leann, and Cheyenne Smith, Jake and Max Haley, Carter Gipson, Ali Jo, Lyric, Gabriel, and Kaylen Mullins, and Riley Gammons.
Lt. Col. Haley was preceded in death by his grandson Benjamin Haley and his parents, John Lawrence Carter and Beatrice Helen Wheeler Haley, and Hollis Haley.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Youth Group of First Methodist Church or Boy Scouts of America Troop #11.
