Louise Bishop Murphey

Mrs. Louise Bishop Murphey, age 90, formerly of Martin, TN, passed from this life on Thursday night, 01/25/2024, at the Life Care Center Nursing Home, Bruceton, TN .She was born on July 31, 1933, daughter of the late Leo and Bertha Haase Bishop, living most of her life in Martin, TN.  She was a graduate of Whiteville High School and the University of Tennessee Martin and married Carol S. Murphey on February 9, 1953.

Funeral services will be Monday, 01/29/2024, at 2:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, with  Webb Hall officiating, with burial to follow.  Visitation will be Monday, after 1:00 PM until service time.

Mrs. Murphey was an elementary school teacher at the Sharon Elementary School for many years.

Mrs. Murphey is survived by her husband of nearly 71 years, Carol Murphey, McKenzie, TN; a daughter, Beverly (Paul) Cooper, Memphis, TN; a son, Jeff (Nan) Murphey, Martin, TN; two sisters, Carolyn (Billy) Payton, Byhalia, MS, and Linda Vawter, Milan, TN; three brothers, Joe (Patricia) Bishop, Bruceton, TN, David (Kathy) Bishop, and Bert (Cindy) Bishop, both of Bolivar, TN; two sister-in-laws, Ann Bishop, of Moore OK, and Ruth Bishop, Whiteville, TN; and one brother-in-law, Odell Campbell, Bells, TN.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Campbell, and three brothers, Carl, Bill, and Jupie Bishop.
