Lois Barner

Mrs. Lois Ray Barner, age 92, of Martin passed away Friday, November 1, 2024, at Van Ayer Nursing and Rehab Center.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM (Noon) Tuesday, 11/05/2024, at Murphy Funeral Home, with Rev. Cody Barner and Rev. Gordon Wilbanks officiating, with burial to follow at East Side Cemetery.

Visitation for Mrs. Barner will be after 10:00 AM Tuesday until service time. Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.

 Mrs. Barner is survived by her sons, Doug (Debbie) Barner, Ray (Nancy) Barner and Donnie (Teresa) Barner all of Martin TN; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Winston, Angie (Jason) Walters, Justin (Jill) Bell, Josh (Julie) Barner, Cody (Brandi) Barner, Dusty (Jennifer) Barner, and Derek (Whitney) Barner; nineteen great grandchildren, and five great great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Russom Meyers, Ripley, TN, Debbie (Jere) Cook, Martin TN, and Becky (Phillip) Wilson, Sharon, TN.

Mrs. Barner was preceded in death by her husband James Barner, a sister, Betty Parrish, two brothers, George and Cecil Garner, and her parents, Earl and Estelle Southerland Garner.

Mrs. Barner was a retired seamstress for Salant Salant of Union City, TN.  After her retirement she was a homemaker.  She and her husband James operated Barner Dairy Farms and she was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.   She was a devoted mother and grandmother, baby sitting  her grandchildren. She was an avid gardener, animal lover, and a great cook .
