Mrs. Linda Forrester Mansfield Dailey, age 78, of Martin died Monday, April 11, 2016, at her home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Dailey was a labor and delivery nurse at Tennova Volunteer Hospital for over 23 years, she was awarded the Dr. Frist Humanitarian Award in 1990. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Martin. She was a dedicated wife and mother. She was an outstanding nurse and was loved by so many. She celebrated with many parents in the birth of their children and loved every minute of being a labor and delivery nurse.
Mrs. Dailey is survived by her husband of 25 years, Charles R. Dailey, her children, Phillip (Betty) Mansfield of Columbia, Tennessee, David G. Mansfield of Martin, TN, Cindy (Don) Elder of Martin, TN, Pam (Brent) Pate of Martin, TN; three step-children, Beth Williams of Troy, TN, Randy (Tabetha) Dailey of Dyersburg, TN, Chuck (Sandy) Dailey of Troy, TN; 16 grandchildren, David, Melissa, Tiffany, Miranda, Lyndsey, Brandon, Magen, John, Teri, Hannah, Peyton, Robby, Andy, Brent, Bethany and Brad; 24 great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Christine Adams of Martin, TN; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Myrtle Forrester; her husband John E. Mansfield; four sisters, L.V. Fuqua, Ruth Campbell, Betty Milner and Jane Moore; two brothers, G.W. Forrester and Halford Forrester; two nephews, John Williams and Steven Williams, one niece, Penny Adams.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 13, 2016, 3:00 P.M. at Central Baptist Church with Bro. Raymond Carneal officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery in Martin, Visitation will be Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Central Baptist Church from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., or after 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the church. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brandon Pate, Josh Scott, Evan McAdoo, Peyton Dailey, Josh Johnson and John Curtis Mansfield.
