Linda Carpenter

Mrs. Linda Scates Carpenter age 81 of Martin died Monday, July 8, 2024, at The Arbors in Union City, Tennessee.

Funeral service will be Saturday, July 13, 2024, 12:00 Noon at First Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Sams officiating.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, July 12, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church, or after 11:00 A.M. Saturday until service time at 12:00 Noon.

Pallbearers will be Danny Carpenter, Danny Knapp, Phil Gordon, Rusty Anderson, Brett Evans and Wendell Cates..

Mrs. Carpenter is survived by her husband, Jerry Carpenter; her son, Scott (Stephanie) Carpenter all of Martin; her daughter, Dana (Troy) Hargrove of Manchester, TN; four grandchildren, Brett Evans, Brooke Evans, Cameron Carpenter and Ellie Kate Carpenter.

She was retired from The University of Tennessee at Martin as a secretary for the  Admissions and Records office.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Martin.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Scates and Ruell Fuqua Scates; one sister, June Wilson and her nephew, David Wilson.
