Lewis Whiteman

Mr. Lewis Eugene Whiteman, age 58, died Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at his home in Martin.

Funeral service will be Saturday, August 21, 2021, 1:00 P.M. at Shepherd's Field Southside Church in Martin with Pastor Josh Carden officiating.  Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Dresden.  Visitation will be Friday, August 20, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home, or after 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Shepherd's Field Church until funeral time at 1:00.

Pallbearers are Lewis Whiteman, Jeremiah Whiteman, Adam Miller, Don Cooper, Barry Segerson, Phil Finch, Chad Snider and Jamie Pettit.

Mr. Whiteman is survived by his wife, Carrie Segerson Whiteman; his mother, Jane Lewis Whiteman Guill of Dresden, TN; his children, Carey (Adam) Miller of Pearland, TX, Kim Miller of Three Way, TN, Lewis (Karissa) Whiteman of Clarksville, TN, Jeremiah Whiteman of Martin, Frankie Ann Whiteman of Sharon, TN and Beth Whiteman of Martin; his sisters, Amy Logan of Union City, TN and Julie (Don) Cooper of Gleason, TN; four grandchildren, Cate Cummings, Aloura Hazlewood, Maddie and Aliva Miller.

He was a graduate of Dresden High School and a member of Southside Baptist Church.  He was a carpenter with Color Shop Restoration and was site supervisor for Habitat for Humanity.  He did maintenance work for the Hope of Martin and was active with the Weakley County jail ministry. He was a former Pastor at Cypress Creek Baptist Church and he founded Celebrate Recovery at Shepherd's Field Church.  

Lewis was preceded in death by his father, Francis E. Whiteman.
