Lester B. Barber

Mr. Lester B. Barber, age 98, died Saturday, 11/23/2019, at the Tennessee State Veteran's Hospital, Humboldt, TN.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, 11/26/2019, at 12:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, with Bro. Sidney White officiating, with burial to follow at Gardner Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be after 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Barber was a member of Gardner Church of Christ (Former Elder); he was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII, (1940-1954); he was co-owner with his son of Barber Machine Co.  

Mr. Barber is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Steve) Adams, Martin, TN, and two sons, Mike (Kathy) Barber, Spring Hill, TN and Jeff Barber, Martin, TN; seven grandchildren, John (Kelly) Barber, Knoxville, TN, Jill (Mark) Love, Spring Hill, TN, Tracy (Thomas) McDermid, Spring Hill, TN, Triva (Jay) DeWeese, Spring Hill, TN, Nichole Adams, Martin, TN, Alesha (Chad) Ezelle, Milan, TN, and Riley (Chris) McIlwain, Destin, FL; nine great grandchildren; Cavin and Wyatt Barber, Bailey DeWeese, Easton and Eli Ezelle, Hunter Barber, Carter, Claire, and Jack McIlwain; two sisters, Jessie Lee Holder Memphis, TN, and Louise Younger, Scearcy, AR; and one brother, Jerry (Martha Rhea) Barber, Louisville, TN; sister-in-law, Ruth Smith, Martin TN; brother-in-law, Joe (Faye) Smith, Martin, TN.

Mr. Barber was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mildred Smith Barber;  a brother, Johnny Barber; and his parents George Dewey and Dovie Hinson Barber.
