Mr. Leland Ray (Lee) Zimmerman, age 79, died Friday, June 23, 2017, at his residence.
Funeral service will Wednesday, June 28, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Reagan officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 27, 2017, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M., or after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Zimmerman is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Betty Joyce Franklin Zimmerman of Martin, TN; one son, Danny Zimmerman (Linda) of Helena, AL; one daughter, Teresa Breyer-Martin of Martin, TN; three granddaughters, Cassidie Harrington (Brent), Brittonie Stewart (Lee) and Valkyrie Groves (Willy); and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Zimmerman is survived by two brothers, Carthel and Charlie Zimmerman and four sisters, Velma Abbott, Genebe Turner, Mae Toler and his twin, Kathryn Cummins; and a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Mr. Zimmerman joined Leland Powell in Martin, TN in 1997 as an engineer and retired in 2007. He attended Northwestern Baptist Church. Mr. Zimmerman enjoyed family gatherings, fishing, singing, playing guitar, gardening and golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Boston Zimmerman and Ethel Stephens Zimmerman, also by two brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Zimmerman will be greatly missed.
