Larry Fowler

Mr. Lawrence Thomas "Larry" Fowler, age 81, of Martin passed this life to the next to live forever with his Lord Jesus on Monday, September 28, 2020.

As a 3rd generation farmer, Larry shared his love of the land with his family.  The 4th and 5th generations continue on in his legacy, as well as his love for the St. Louis Cardinals.  He and his wife Mary often stopped to visit other farms as they toured all fifty states.  They enjoyed seeing the sights and traveling with their friends.  Larry was a great supporter of his alma mater, The University of Tennessee at Martin, and was a fixture at Skyhawk home games.  As a deacon, he was deeply active among his lifelong church family at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Elder Hicks Fowler whom he met at Martin High School; his parents, Thomas Fowler and Bernice Hall Fowler; two sisters, Elwyn Fowler King and Mozelle Fowler McKendry; son-in-law, Randy Rousch.

He is survived by his children, Lori Rousch of Little Rock and Keith (Linda) Fowler of Martin; sister, Julia Penick of Murray, KY; five grandchildren, Chris (Carly) Fowler, Rachel Fowler, Emily Fowler, Ryan (Brooke) Rousch and Andrew (Carolyn) Rousch; two great-grandchildren, Ezra and Archer Rousch.

Funeral service will be Friday, October 2, 2020, 2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Mac McCaleb, Rev. Michael Norton and Rev. Thurman Neal Penick officiating.  Burial will follow in Cates Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Friday beginning at 12:00 Noon at the church until service time at 2:00.  The family request that face coverings be worn for the visitation.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Penick, Scott Penick, John Chester, Thomas Chester, Connor Simpson and Tommy Mount.  Honorary Pallbearers are Ken King, Kevin Penick and Barry McGlothin.
