Mr. Kenneth R. Wright, age 81, of Bartlett, Tennessee died Monday, November 14, 2016, at Methodist Healthcare Hospice Residence in Memphis.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, November 17, 2016, 1:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Rev. John Shamblin officiating. Burial will follow in Public Wells Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday for two hours prior to service time.
Mr. Wright is survived by his wife, Betty Bell Wright of Memphis; his daughter, Libby (Barry) Claud of Centerville, TN; his son, Keith (Gwen) Wright of Centerville, TN; his step-children, Jim (Audra) Montague of Hernando, MS and Monica (Kevin) Gallimore of Lakeland, TN; two grandchildren, Dylan Claud and Sam Claud; three step-grandchildren, Lily Montague, Griffin Gallimore and Kaity Gallimore.
Mr. Wright taught and coached football at Hickman County High School in Centerville, TN for 25 years and was the Mayor of Centerville, TN for eight years. He graduated Dupont High School and Tennessee Tech University and was a former football coach at Martin High School in the 1960's. He was a retired Lt. Col. in the Tennessee National Guard after 28 years of service. Mr. Wright was inducted into the Tennessee Tech Hall of Fame in 1988. He was a member of Briarwood Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Wright and Allie Hardison Wright Weesner; one brother, Knox Wright.
