Mrs. Karen Ray Currie, age 69, of Martin died Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital North in Oxford, Mississippi.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 20, 2016, 1:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Allen officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Currie was preceded in death by her husband Edwin "Ed" Currie; her son, Gerald Wayne Currie; parents, Wallace Benton Ray and Margardelle Boden Ray; sister, Patty Stroble; brother, Benny Benton Ray.
Mrs. Currie was a retired secretary for student housing at The University of Tennessee at Martin. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Martin; former member of Martin Kiwanis Club; former member of Martin Pilot Club, and a graduate of Martin Citizens Police Academy. Karen was a past president of the Martin Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Don Rogers of Oxford, MS and her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Mary Currie of LaVergne, TN; two grandchildren, Donald "D" Rogers, III and Currie Benton Rogers.
