J.W. Kirkland

Mr. John Walter (J.W.) Kirkland, age 92, died Monday, April 29, 2019, at Weakley County Nursing and Rehab Center in Dresden.

Funeral service will be Thursday, May 2, 2019, 2:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Sams officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday beginning at 12:00 Noon until funeral time at 2:00.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery in Martin.

Pallbearers are C.J. Teal, Cody Barner, David Spencer, Dale Willis, David Gingras and Kermit Hopper. 

Mr. Kirkland was preceded in death by his wife, Mirtie Sue Carlton Kirkland; his daughter, Judy Spitzer; parents, Les Kirkland and Stella Hopper Kirkland Dunn.

Mr. Kirkland was a retired farmer and a member of Ralston Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth (Karen) Kirkland of Martin; three grandchildren, Jonathan Kirkland, Ryan Spitzer and Susan Spitzer; several great-grandchildren.
