Johnnie Hazlewood

Johnnie Maye Crowder Hazlewood, age 86 went to be with our LORD on May 8, 2021 at her residence.  She was the daughter of John H. and Elector May Crowder of Sharon, TN.  Her sister was Alice Savannah Wolfe and she had 8 half-brothers and sisters from her father's family.

She was the 7th great-granddaughter of Hugh Crowder who helped settle the Jamestown, VA area and was a distant cousin of James K. Polk, the 11th President of the United States who was from Columbia, TN.

She married Alvin Leon Hazlewood on April 1, 1956 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Hazlewood in Martin, TN on Easter Sunday.  Her children are Wanda Mullins (Bobby) of Hernando, MS, Sandy Frizzell (Greg) of Oklahoma City, OK and Tim (Danise) Hazlewood of Martin, TN.  She has three grandchildren, Brandon (Megan) Mullins, Melody (Joey) Amason, and Mallory (Rocky) McNabb and four great-grandchildren; Brantley and Ella Mullins, Raelyn and Browder McNabb.

She was a devoted homemaker and a member of New Home Baptist Church.  She enjoyed singing and the ladies WMU group.  She was truly a Proverbs 31 mother.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 12, 2021, 2:00 P.M. at New Home Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Potts, Dr. Bobby Mullins and Dr. Greg Frizzell.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday beginning at 12:00 Noon until service time at 2:00.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
