Mr. John Spencer Duncan, age 84, died Wednesday, August 29, 2017, at Desoto County Baptist Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi.
Funeral Service will be Sunday, September 3, 2017, 2:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Hutchens and Bro. Brad Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pelia Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, September 2, 2017, from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Spencer Smith, Michael McKinney, Danny Cook, Mike Edwards, Steve McWherter and Keath Turner. Honorary Pallbearers to serve are Dickie Alexander, Marvin Alexander, Lewis Shelton, Billy Gene Wagster, Larry McKinney, Finis Wagster, C.P. Deal, Jim Kirk and Gene Turner.
Mr. Duncan is survived by his daughters, Lakota (Jim) Kirk and Shana Smith both of Martin, Scarlett (Eddie) Mathis of Hartsville, AL; sisters, Sylvia McKinney, Sarah Moore and Kay Duncan all of Hermitage, TN; one grandson, Spencer Thomas Smith.
Mr. Duncan was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber as a maintenance electrician. He was a graduate of Martin High School and a Golden Glove Champion. He was a veteran, U.S. Army, and a member of Bethel Church of Christ.
He was preceded by his wife, Marva Fay McIntosh Duncan; his parents, John William Spencer Duncan and Mary Frances Damron Duncan.
