Joe Martin

Mr. Joseph Wade (Joe) Martin, age 61, died Wednesday, 09/14/2011, at his residence.

Funeral service will be Friday, September 16, 2011, at Eastside Baptist Church; 4:00 P.M. Burial to follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at Murphy Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., or after 2:00 P.M. on Friday at the church.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Jennifer Johnson Martin of Martin, TN; son, Ian Wade Martin of Nashville, TN; duaghter, Kristie (Russ) Dyer of Topeka, Kansas; sister, Beth Fuqua of Hermitage, TN; three grandchildren, Virginia Grace Dyer, Ava Dare Dyer and Will Wade Martin. He was survived by three special nieces, Birdie Rigazio, Eva Parks and Renee Goodman; and three special nephews, Brad Parks, Boots Crews and Joey Fuqua.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Martin and Shirley Johnson Martin; sister, Charlotte Warren.

Mr. Martin worked 32 years for Mar-Ten Hams. The next eight years he was a butcher for E.W. James and Save-A-Lot. He was a 1969 graduate of Martin High School and a member of East Side Baptist Church.
