Joan Dowland Martin

Mrs. Joan Dowland Martin, age 69, of Martin died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.

Funeral service will be Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Murphy Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.

Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Martin; her parents, James Whitman (Doc) Dowland and Doris Jean Burpo Dowland; her brothers, Bobby Dowland and Ricky Dowland; her sister, Sue Mize.  She is survived by her sons, Tim Mosley of Martin and James Mosley of Murfreesboro, TN; sister-in-law, Sylvia Dowland of Martin; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Mrs. Martin was a homemaker.  She was a graduate of Martin High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Sharon.
